Neuron Specific Enolase (NSE)

NSE is a 45kDa cytoplasmic protein with three subunits, alpha, beta and gamma. The gamma subunit is mainly distributed in the central nervous system, peripheral nervous system and neuroendocrine cells and its tumor cells, showing diffuse cytoplasmic staining in positive cells. It can be used for the auxiliary diagnosis of neuroendocrine tumors.
