Estrogen Receptor (ER)

ER is a 66kDa protein that is an important regulator of mammary gland growth and differentiation. ER is present in the normal endometrium, smooth muscle cells, and the epithelial lining of the normal breast. Estrogen receptor in breast cancer tissue is an important parameter for prognosis determination and predicting sensitivity to endocrine therapy.
