Ki-67 antigen is a nuclear antigen specifically related to cell proliferation, used for cell proliferation activity determination. It is expressed in all active cell cycles (G1, S, G2 and mitotic phases), but not in G0 phase. The proliferation rate assessed by Ki-67 can be used as a prognostic and grading indicator for a variety of malignant tumors. It is also helpful in the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant tumors.
