CD23, a 45-to 60-kda membrane glycoprotein identified as a low-affinity receptor for IgE production and a lymphocyte growth factor receptor, is expressed in certain mature B-cell lymphomas of Hodgkin's disease and in Reed-Sternberg cells. The antibody can be used to label monocytes/macrophages, follicular dendritic cells, T cell subsets, eosinophils, Langerhans cells, and activated mature B cells in small lymphocytic lymphoma/chronic lymphocytic leukemia (SLL/CLL).
