EGFR is a membrane protein with a molecular weight of 170 kDa that is widely distributed in many normal and malignant epithelial cells. EGFR is expressed in a variety of normal tissues, especially in the basal layer of stratified epithelium and squamous epithelium. The overexpression of EGFR is observed in a variety of tumor tissues, such as breast, bladder, lung, stomach, esophagus, and head and neck tumors.
