MUM1, multiple myeloma oncoprotein, is a lymphoid-specific transcription factor encoded by MUM1 gene and a member of the interferon regulatory factor (IRF) family. It can regulate the proliferation and differentiation of B cells and activate T lymphocytes. MUM1 is expressed in multiple myeloma, lymphoplasmacytic lymphoma, and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, and serves as an immunophenotypic marker of B-cell lymphoma histogenesis.
