Bcl-2

The Bcl-2 family is the most characterized protein family involved in the regulation of apoptotic cell death and consists of anti-apoptotic and pro-apoptotic members. Bcl-2 is a useful marker for the identification of follicular lymphoma tumor cells. Bcl-2 protein-specific antibodies can be used to distinguish reactive from neoplastic follicular hyperplasia in lymph node biopsy.
