CK7 is a basic cytokeratin with a molecular weight of 54kDa that is present in glandular and transitional epithelial cells of most normal tissues. The glandular and transitional epithelium, ovarian, lung, and breast epithelia are CK7 positive, whereas colon, prostate, and gastrointestinal epithelia are CK7 negative and thus can be used to differentiate between ovarian (CK7+) and colon (CK7-) cancers.
