Desmin

Desmin is an intermediate filament protein with a molecular weight of 53kDa, normally distributed in smooth muscle cells, cardiomyocytes, skeletal muscle cells, myoepithelial cells and their tumors. It is mainly used in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of rhabdomyosarcoma and myoepithelioma in the uterus, skin, gastrointestinal tract eventually other tissues.
