MLH1 is a mismatch repair protein playing an important role in maintaining the integrity and stability of genetic information and avoiding the generation of genetic mutations. The dysfunction of MLH1 is considered to be an important mechanism of tumor pathogenesis. It is used to determine gene mutations in colorectal cancer, esophageal cancer, gastric cancer, and cervical cancers.
