Myeloperoxidase (MPO)

Myeloperoxidase (MPO) is an important enzyme in granulocytes involved in the process of phagocytose and lysis of foreign bodies. MPO is strongly expressed in normal lymphoid tissues and various myeloproliferative diseases, but not expressed in erythroid precursors, lymphoid cells, prokaryotic cells, mast cells, plasma cells, various epithelial tumors and sarcomas. MPO is mainly used in the differential diagnosis of myeloid cell tumors and lymphoid cell tumors.
