p53 is a phosphoprotein, tumor suppressor, with a molecular weight of 53Kda. It has two forms: wild type and mutant type. It is expressed in the variety of tumors, including breast tumors, gastrointestinal tumors, hepatocellular tumors and respiratory tumors. It is mainly used as one of the indicators of tumor prognosis. The positive expression of p53 indicates a poor prognosis.
